Hostel Withdrawal and Refund Policy: Understanding Registration and Fee Deductions
If a student withdraws from the hostel before the official start date of classes or the designated reporting date, only the registration fee will be charged as processing fees, and the remaining balance will be refunded. However, if the student withdraws from the hostel after the commencement of classes or after reporting to the hostel (regardless of the admission date or whether the student has occupied a room), 65% of the total hostel fee will be forfeited. In such cases, only the Mess and Laundry fees for the unused months will be refunded on a pro-rata basis. (Please note, hostel fees are valid for a period of ten months.)
It’s important to note that Mess and Laundry fee refunds will not be processed for withdrawals after September 15, 2024. Additionally, if a student stays in the hostel for even one day in a given calendar month, the full Mess & Laundry fee for that month will be deducted.
Students are required to provide a one-month advance notice to the Chief Warden if they plan to vacate the hostel.
Student Withdrawal and Refund Policy for Classes and Transportation Services
If a student decides to withdraw before the start of classes, only a nominal processing fee of Rs. 500/- will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded. However, if the student withdraws after the start of classes, the refund calculation will be as follows:
This policy ensures clarity for students who are opting out of classes or transportation services, making it easier to understand the fee structure and refund process.
